Tim,
If I may interject, go with an outside wood boiler if you are serious. I burned wood for years in the basement. Wood mess and bugs galore + soot throughout the house not to speak of the insurance deal (many won't take an inside burner anymore) or chimney fires.

If you would like to talk more about the boiler (had one for 7 years now) drop a pm.
