Tim,

We had a wood burning stove at our lake house with a fan built in to circulate the warm air. I certainly wouldn't rely on it for whole house heating ( we had in in a "great room" with vaulted ceiling). It was very nice to augment the furnace though. The particular one we had had a very big glass front with a gold frame so it had the "ambiance" of a fireplace. We enjoyed it, but there wasn't enough heat to rely on as a primary heating source.
