In fact it almost non sequiter. Why would it piss you off? You either believe and buy the stock or you don't and don't. Those that believed in RDRT made money. It isn't out of the question that a similar rise in the stock price is in the future for the now combined KMAG/HMTT. (shareholders unanimously approved the merger today including the three actual shareholders that had a corporeal presence at the meeting.) These are very technically capable companies. I think it is a good thing to see new markets made available to their capabilities. If this is announced IMHO it can only be viewed favorably and I believe it will be announced. However I am not sure it is a "photonics play". There is the other issue of where the newly combined company stands in terms of the HDD media market. I think it stands in a very nice position and I also believe that market will grow, certainly not as fast as in the past, but grow it will. In any case, you have heard me pan the independent makers of heads and media for, lets see, how many quarters? Is it really nine already? So, you saw me recently turn on RDRT and then exit. Now I am turning on Komag. I will publish if I exit the position (which is large by percentage for me). I have also taken a large position in Maxtor. Best, Stitch
