Unique Broadband files suit against PixStream
03:56 EDT Wednesday, September 20, 2000

Unique Broadband Systems Inc. of Markham, Ont., filed a lawsuit yesterday against PixStream Inc. in which it alleges that a product developed for Unique Broadband was instead marketed to others by PixStream and its founders. The lawsuit, filed in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, asks for $540-million in general damages and $10-million in punitive damages. PixStream of Waterloo, Ont., had no comment on the lawsuit. No statement of defence has been filed. Nor would the firm comment on whether the action will affect the August purchase of the company by Cisco Systems Inc. for $369-million (U.S.).
