Keith, I noticed a person using the handle "broadbandy_goodness" posted on Yahoo saying I was incorrect about the Legerity/AMD release, because there was an ALA based chip mentioned in the release. Since I don't post over there it may help if the person was asked about the following from DSLprimes DSLcon reporting. I've highlighted the part I feel is significant.

"VDSL from the same chip as ADSL is the promise of Aware's new DMTflex technology. The same central office chips can support 8 channels of ADSL or a single VDSL port, using the Alcatel compatible DMT format."

The person seems to know much about this stuff, but I wonder if that has been read by him. DSLprime is the only place I've heard about AWRE doing anything directly involving an ALA product...nor do we know if it is accurate, but running it by this person may produce an informative reply.

TIA,

Scrapps
