Steve, thanks for your comments. I do believe there are more details to come and maybe the announcement was rushed. Even the analysts have commented that they would like to see more information. I am not sure that this software area is congested. I think there are solutions but there is always room for improvement. For example, even though every major company has had computers running application code since the late 60s a major software area has been replacing the software base with packages for ERP etc. This is where SAP, BAAN, BMC, even Oracle come into play. Companies have running applications but the new packages are better so they do a complete replace. I am ignoring the entire Y2K issue in this comment since that was truly a unique situation. So NTOP's software package, which services the consumer space whereas Cisco and some of the other offerings were more the Enterprise space, is probably best of breed which is what brought in all of their major partners and could enjoy receptivity in not only the net-add situations but also the software package replace opportunity.
As far as losses out as far as we can see, I don't know what the answer is there. I think the deals will accelerate the earnings visibility issue. The next earnings release could fill in a lot of blanks not only on earnings issues but on some of the details that have been lacking. It is our next important potential catalyst for upside activity so they need to be very good with their documentation and CC. As far as NTOP IR, they have their own but it sucks. I sent them an Email asking for details regarding which conferences they were going to be at last week and this week. I never received an answer. I identified myself and that I have an established investment partnership located right in N.J. But no answer and now this morning I see there was precisely the conference I wanted to attend in NYC this week and NTOP is participating at least as a vendor. Keynote speaker was from T and I would have liked to have attended his presentation. I think on balance NTOP probably does a better job (because Balter is better than HJ) with communications and PR but it is still lousy. I can get access to much larger companies far easier than these two bozos.
Anyway, the next catalyst is earnings and the earnings CC, IMHO.
