A.T. & T. has a board meeting today. Looking at a 60 min. . . on the 13th T spiked sharply on the rumor of John Malone, former CEO of TCI, taking over Armstrong's spot as the head of T. Remember, Malone had the midas touch with TCI and his countless complicated tracking stocks [remember TCIVa & TCIVb?]. . . Now looking at LMG.a and LDIG, we see a sharp dump in both stocks over the past 2 days. . .leading into this board meeting. Malone is currently CEO of Liberty Media [LMG.a] and chairman of Liberty Digital [LDIG], so it makes sense that they would tank ahead of this board meeting, if it is widely believed that Malone will indeed take over.

I don't know whether or not this will actually happen, nor do I have links to insiders who do. . . and if I did, I would refrain from posting on the topic or trading it, because that violates the law. . . BUT! We can speculate.

So the question that needs asked is how could we profit from what might happen? The Liberty's would pop if they get to keep Malone. . and would tank should they lose him. T is already sitting near its bottom [I hope], so there is little downside risk. . . though a knee-jerk is likely. . . but the way it spiked over 2 points on the 13th could be a glimpse into the reaction of such a change in leadership.

This is highly speculative, based on little but unsubstantiated conjecture & rumor. So buyer beware.
