WaveRider's NCL1135 Approved For Sale In China TORONTO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 21, 2000--WaveRider (NASDAQ:WAVC - news; FRANKFURT:WVR.FSE)
11 Mbps bridge/router enables Chinese ISPs to offer faster Internet connections -- WaveRider Communications Inc. (NASDAQ: WAVC, Frankfurt WVR.FSE), a leading global provider of fixed wireless Internet access products, today announced its NCL1135 wireless bridge/router has been approved by China's Radio Regulatory Department of the Ministry of Information Industry (MII) for sale and installation in the Chinese market.
The MII type approval of the NCL1135 allows WaveRider to finalize sales agreements for its 11 Mbps bridge/router with existing customers in China. Since the MII approval of WaveRider's NCL135 in May, the company has sold and deployed wireless Internet access products through its network of Value Added Resellers (VARs) in China.
``WaveRider is rapidly building a solid customer base in the Chinese Internet access market and continues to build awareness and acceptance of our products and services,'' said Michael Orloff, Vice President, International, WaveRider Communications Inc. ``The approval of the NCL1135 will help WaveRider attract new customers and offer a greater selection of reliable high-speed Internet access products.''
WaveRider's NCL family of bridge/routers provides high-speed wireless connectivity for LAN-to-Internet and LAN-to-LAN applications, enabling fast, reliable connections over distances up to ten miles. The NCL1135 delivers speeds up to 11 Mbps between corporate computer networks, outlying offices and the Internet.
The NCL1135 will be added to the family of products being marketed through WaveRider's office in Beijing. The company has also filed for approval of its LMS2000 wireless Internet access product in China. The LMS2000 is a fully networked, license-exempt wireless system that delivers broadband Internet access to large, medium and small businesses, using secure and interference-free spread-spectrum radio technology in the license-free 2.4 GHz ISM band.
WaveRider's accomplishments in China are part of the company's overall strategy to increase its presence in the Asia-Pacific market. In August, the company announced it has signed a letter of intent to acquire ADE Network Technology Pty Ltd., a privately-held wireless infrastructure company based in Melbourne, Australia. |
