First, with advances in medical technology, there have been viable infants at about 4 months, and 5 months is taken for granted. Where did you go to medical school? Second, an infant cannot survive unless someone feeds and tends to him, even after birth. Legally, we require the mother not to abandon him, but to continue her responsibilities until other arrangements are made. Condition of dependency is a non- issue..........
