From the 26 June 2000 issue of Barron's:

Art Samberg (talking about MCLD): "Revenues of $1.1 billion will climb to $2.6 billion in 2002. EBITDA could go from $55 million to $505 million."

Note that Samberg stated that revenues will rise about 150% in the space of two years. Not could but will. This is clearly hyperbole.

EBITDA could rise more than 800%!?! Again, clearly hyperbole, and a number that will only be attainable if they can find a lot more financing, something that won't happen if the current environment toward CLECs doesn't change a lot.

And the stock in MCLD has declined 50% in the three short months since the story was published.

I guess Art should expect the SEC cops to be knocking on his door next.

[Note: This is sarcastic. Art is a good guy in this war. But he makes a good example here, nonetheless.]
