Would like to get any comments on a move just made.

Sold some shares of SSTI. Locked in a nice profit. Remaining shares are free, or very close to it. Took proceeds and bought ssti jan calls with 30 and 35 strike's. Knocked a few bucks off margin at the same time.

So< i locked in profit on ssti previously bought, but now control more shares, and knocked a few dollars off of margin. I would assume, as long as ssti is higher in january, it was a good move....lower and it was not. Comments anyone ???

Additionally, I am looking to do the same with one or 2 other stocks....mainly jdsu right now. I could sell, double up with calls and eliminate a nice chunk of that dreaded margin......any ideas on what months and strikes to look at with jdsu would be appreciated.
