ILLINOIS, EDWARDSVILLE 62026. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. Assistant Professor position. Tenure track appointment beginning with the 2001 Fall semester, 16 August 2001. PhD desired. ABDs will be considered if all requirements for the PhD can be met by the appointment date.

Geographer with competence in teaching cartography/ computer mapping.

Ability to teach introductory and intermediate classes, as well as classes in an area of specialty.

The successful candidate will teach in the department's undergraduate and MA/MS programs. The individual will share the responsibility of teaching sections of a general education geography course. Summer teaching is usually available, but is not mandatory. Commitment to excellence in teaching (especially undergraduates) and research is expected. A state-of-the-art GIS/Image Processing
Laboratory is housed within the Department and is available for teaching and research.

Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
