I have not made up my mind about bio engineered foods. But in Europe and Asia, many are violently opposed to these foods. More importantly, they are opposed to the corporations that research and manufacture. In Mansanto's case, it is alleged that they deliberately engineered seeds in such a way that when planted, the seeds from this plants could not be used. Farmers in other countries are not as rich as in this country (many will be non plussed at this statement) and there is no way they can purchase seeds from such companies. It is a very complex issue and can open a whole new can of worms. I think it would be similiar to man playing god with plants (sound familiar: cloning/stem cell research . Man playing god with man). As I said, I have not made up mind on this one yet, if it is beneficial or not.
