Not all exploration leads to your "scorched earth", quite to the contrary, the fisheries of the Gulf of Mexico have improved in both quality & quantity since the drilling of oil began there. The same has been seen in the North Sea. Were oil allowed offshore CA. OR, & WA(instead of outlawed as done by this administration), the same might well occur again.
