Darrell, Dell's management used up quite a bit of credibility last year and earlier this year....they are now in the process of rebuilding credibility after some major gaffes........IF Dell's management STILL had that credibility (pre-February 1999)...the stock would not be getting beat up so in after-hours... I think Dell will do OK this quarter, but the past is coming to hurt it now.... BTW- Go easy on Kumar..so far this year, he looks like he has been closer to the mark than any analyst and even Intel's CFO, IR and Dell's CFO/IR...not bad for second-hand educated guess work...if you have a problem with Kumar, then your problem(s) should be bigger with those other groups I mentioned... BTW- I am still long Dell (albeit a very small % stake)..if you are long-term (which you certainly seem to be), things will work out fine...
