Britain's Marconi to Acquire Mariposa Technology for About $268 Million dowjones.work.com Dow Jones Business News LONDON -- Britain's Marconi PLC said it will acquire Mariposa Technology Inc., a U.S.-based provider of integrated access devices for building converged voice, video and data networks, for about $268 million in stock. Acquiring Mariposa will enable Marconi, a provider of telecommunications equipment, to offer customers a greater range of high-speed integrated access devices for managing voice, video and data traffic flow across communications networks, the company said. Founded in 1997, Mariposa has about 60 employees and is based in Petaluma, Calif. The deal's terms call for Marconi to issue stock in exchange for all of Mariposa's outstanding shares, based on the price of Marconi shares in the period shortly prior to closing.
