I took the question from a different tack. If there was a creator with a design in question, could he (she, it) accomplish the feat even with unlimited powers?
There are things that come into play, even for a magician.
It boils down to uncertainty and chaos. If there is no uncertainty, then the universe is deterministic. All is fate. We are a simulation of someones idea.
If the universe is not deterministic, then any attempt to create with a goal will run into chaotic changes at the boundary of uncertainty. Even if these are corrected, it will take a force at least double the chaotic deviation to correct the action. The correction will have uncertain results, again equal to the boundary of uncertainty. The net result is that any set of corrections would quickly, very quickly, result in changes that would appear statisticly anomolous. No such anomoly has been seen and it would be quite noticable if a force were trying to direct us to a path of intelligence, or any other similar goal. ergo, there is no outside direction. It does not matter how all-knowing or powerful the correction algorythm, it would still leave a signature unless, and only unless, the universe is deterministic. Things are not uncertain if the creator knows the outcome, even if they are too complex to actually calculate.
Maybe the universe was created in a laboratory experiment that resulted in the big bang. I don't know, but I do know that nobody has been directing the outcome since. TP |
