So just before Quantum's Mike Brown speaks at the Tuesday IDEMA Dinner Meeting, he's asked by Jim Porter, who introduces him, if he would take question afterwards in view of the rumors swirling around. Brown says sure. So after the speech, Porter asks the audience if there are any questions. No one raises their hand to ask even one question. I elected not to attend so I can't say what I would have done. Regarding the rumored get together between Quantum/Maxtor, the folks I talked with in the banking/investment community say NO, but several Quantum and Maxtor folks I talked with say YES. One Quantum source said a name for the new entity has come out of the Quantum lunch room chats. They are calling it "Quaxtor". Regards, LT
