<font color=black>GET <font color=red>It <font color=black>HERE The Internet in the palm of your hand. You want Infotech? Globalstar and QUALCOMM deliver. Good idea to buy a Globalstar phone with your ill-gotten crude oil gains Snowshoe. From GSTRF stream:http://www.siliconinvestor.com/readmsg.aspx?msgid=14432840 ragingbull.altavista.com
<Paul Olsen, the Head of Business Development at Qualcomm, stated to us that Qualcomm had a very strong interest in Globalstar’s success. He Viewed Globalstar as a communications pipe. He said Qualcomm had more than one objective with Globalstar. He believes that there are all sorts of other mobile markets that Globalstar could service. One he cited was Wingcast a Qualcomm joint venture with Ford, to supply internet access to automobiles.>
So, Q! isn't just a handset and gateway supplier! They have more than one objective. How about:
$500 million vendor financing Shareholding profit from 10% share of Globalstar LP ASIC sales Royalties from Telit, Ericy [and maybe Hyundai], Schlumberparty Handset sales Marine sales Accessories sales [car kits, chargers and stuff] Gateway sales and upgrades Wingcast sales SCADA sales IFN sales [the gadgets to make it work in aircraft] gpsOne sales Eudora sales PacketVideo sales NetZero sales 724 Solutions [they have some partnership there] PureVoice applications Condor [security for government] WirelessKnowledge sales Technicolor sales Wingcast LaunchPad [Compact Media Extension [CMX], gpsOne and SnapTrack, user interface and removable storage]
Maybe I forgot something too.
With a Globalstar Anita [TM] gadget with all that stuff plus the Digital Camera, EarCell [TM], GSRS [TM], Methanol Fuel Cell with Cooker, Alarm Clock, Flashlight/camping light, Voltmeter, Optical Character Recognition, Vegemite Dispenser, QUALCOMM will truly be able to say Get It Here. There is more functionality in that lot than half the human brains running around the place.
As you can see, since Globalstar is the only mechanism available to cover huge areas of earth with these systems and billions of people plus all those who usually have coverage but want it out of zone too, QUALCOMM does NOT want Globalstar to be stillborn. Q! wants the huge revenue stream which will come via these items over the next 10 and 20 years.
People don't give up on their child if they stumble at their first step and sell it to the catfood factory. This baby is going to be far more than a child. This is It. Zygote to Zeitgeist. This is as big as it gets. And It will get very, very big.
QUALCOMM will not allow it to be sold to Newscorp. Neither will Vodafone.
That Maximillun report was very cautious, conservative and cannot be accused of overlooking the possibility of a failing business plan. But managed to maintain a very optimistic view simultaneously. I guess we could call it a very good, balanced report.
Paul Olsen, a gold-chain wearing little magician will not let Globalstar go by the boards.

PS: Plus testing, training, software sales of other sorts, second, third and fourth constellation development contracts with gateway expansion. Don't forget, in a few years, the Telit and Ericy devices will be 3G and all CDMA. That means more ASIC sales and royalties.
I wonder if all that software would be carted around in the Anita [TM] device or would it sit in a Web server and download into the handset at 1x-EV rates [or cdma2000] when somebody wants to get a location fix, send an email or browse some urls. I suppose as memory increases and can fit into a handset without wasting space or draining batteries, software and data will sit right there in the handset. With methanol top-ups, battery life will cease to be a problem, though cooling might be. With liquid methanol cooling by convection, the device shouldn't overheat.
Q! should write
========== Get It Here QUALCOMM ==========
with the It in red on subscriber devices they sell. Well, maybe everything Infotech-related they sell that connects to The Web.
Digital By QUALCOMM
Doesn't really convey anything much at all. Digital is so last century. |
