You got that right, my first year of investing I depended on my broker to tell me what to buy, never made a penny, not one. Got online so I could check out the companies he was reco. his next pick was BOST when it was trading around 18.00. I did net searches and found out his firm had been the underwriter and many people had lost thousands. I transferred my money and positions to an online firm, sold all picks he had reco. and started with the pennies. One of the best decision I ever made in my life.
