"Sales of digital cameras are on track for triple-digit growth by the end of this year and
could reach 4.2 million units in the United States, according to a report released on Thursday."

Ron, thanks for the information. We are at the mercy of the market today. I like to think of things plain and simple. SanDisk has basically three major products right now: flash disks for the telecommunications industry, CompactFlash for the digital photography and PDA markets and MultiMediaCard/SDMC for the MP3 and handset markets. In this instance a lack of diversification may work in our favor.

An unfavorable currency situation may make SanDisk products relatively more expensive to the consumers abroad, however the target markets are hot worldwide. The gift giving season is coming up as well. I just don't see the Intel news having a long-lasting effect on SNDK.

SanDisk is setting a pattern of upside earnings surprises. Sooner or later the this trend will send a clear signal to investors who are otherwise reluctant to invest in semiconductors.
