LT, LOL, thanks for the on-site color. Are the Yahoos being Quaxtored? Wouldn't be the first time. On the other hand, I would guess that those in attendence already know more or less what is going on, and didn't want to be the one(s) to get on MB's bad side by publicly asking questions. I'm not sure what I would have done either, but, since I'm not employed by anyone there, think I would have asked the big question. Also would like to know what people there are saying about sales price of SEG. And exactly what price would Maxtor pay for HDD? Book? What multiple of cash value? How do they swallow a company that is larger than they are, at least by sales and market share, if not by actual assets?
I'd like to know too what Porter's take on all this is. And if the Fujitsu/SEG rumors have any truth to them. And if so, how the heck do Silver Lake/Texas Pacific have any hope of not paying a large disgorgement fee to the lawyers pursuing them?
Al S. must be walking around smiling, from his VC perch. I hope so, anyway.
Thanks again for the on-site reports. They are much appreciated. (Looking forward to some literary masterpieces from Stitch as well--hint, hint!) Best wishes, Sam |
