I don't have anything concrete on Navio. I think you could view it
both ways - it is possible that the internet appliance applications
that Navio was working on could now be based on VxWorks. I know that
NCI stated there will be no changes to the NC Reference Platform
spec as a result of the Navio buyout. I take that to mean that the NC
will still make use of VxWorks. It would seem only natural to me, from
a business standpoint, for NCI to want to work toward a common
solution for both NC/STB and internet appliance product lines. The
press release didn't discuss the system software (RTOS); all the
references were to the application software that Navio and NCI had
been/will be developing. I think the only thing that stands out is
that Oracle/NCI made a very public declaration of their choice of
VxWorks last year, and they have said nothing to the contrary since.
