<< The Scoutmaster I envision would be a masculine, honest, ethical leader who would teach and lead these young boys to become esteemed and confident young men >> I think that you are stereotyping gay people. There are a lot of gay people who would fit your definition. Some well known gays: "Alexander The Great, Chief Crazy Horse, Elton John, Frederick the Great, Hans Christian Andersen, Henry David Thoreau, Herman Melville, Lawrence of Arabia, Michelangelo, Peter the Great, Plato, Pope Julius III, Richard the Lion Hearted, Rock Hudson, Socrates, Tchaikovsky, Walt Whitman" A person should be judged by his character, and not by his birthright. I defend the gay lifestyle, not being gay, because I can't imagine the pain of being ostracized by society when someone is born different. << I wouldn't want my son to be led by Al Gore for instance. He lies and cheats and would not be a good leader, in my opinion. >> Then you need to find a candidate that is not a politician or a lawyer. << I wouldn't want any leader who had a character defect or a lifestyle that would be a negative for my son. >> Not having a character defect eliminates everyone in this world, except for me, and I don't want to be a scout leader. << You don't know me but I try to lift everyone I meet up. >> Unless they are different....... << That doesn't mean I want to become or have my child become a part of someones world that isn't acceptable conduct to me. >> Yes, conduct is important. Can you honestly say that a gay's conduct is worse than a heterosexual's conduct? Oh, you mean in the bedroom? Well, sex is only one part of a gay's life. Some have much less sexual activity than a heterosexual person. << ... Hooters. They are famous for beautiful young, scantily clad beauties ... a guy took them to court because they would not hire him as a waiter. >> Sometimes our society goes to far to protect people from discrimination. I guess it is better to error in defense of people then to discriminate. Hooters is one of my favorite places. But, I'd be willing to bet that you don't go there, and you, I would guess, are also not gay. |
