Well, since you raised the question of the definition of the word "default," I thought I'd try to clear it up.

It appears to me that, if you are required under the terms of a note to pay principal on September 22, and you do not do so, you have defaulted, unless the lender, on or before the time that repayment is due, affirmatively relieves you of that obligaton.
