Piotr ... Some interesting stuff about CPQ from DELL

It seems that MD is getting nervous because MC has been getting a lot of press coverage lately, or is MD worried that MC has turned this thing around?. MC never attacks any competitor, all what he said about DELL is that CPQ competes with them in commercial PC's and we will take our fight to the market place. It is clear from the articles below that Dell is worried about CPQ comeback:

9/22/00 - Dell Believes Company Set for 30 Percent Growth
Sep. 22 (The Dallas Morning News/KRTBN)--AUSTIN, Texas

From the article:

One Dell executive predicted Thursday that the company could overtake market leader Compaq within a year.

Comment: Dream on, CPQ has 29.3% market share (and growing) vs DELL's 14.1% according to the latest statistics. Another interesting point is that CPQ's revenues grew at 40% in Q2 while unit growth was only ~15%, this simply says CPQ is dominant in the high end of the server market.

Final remark: CPQ statement today confirms what I said two days ago that there is no warning. It is clear that INTC warning is their specific problem.
