Some say that God made the world and that He knew the world till the end of time. Some say that when He started the world, He thought about Jack the Ripper and the Son of Sam, and Paul Bernardo...and He set the wheels in motion. Some say He knew that He, His own self, would need to murder most of his creation, so that all the sin of subsequent years, that stemmed from Noah and company, could be played out in the bloody pages of history--and the dripping canvas of today. Some say, He knew that He would regret His mistake before He murdered His creation, and would subsequently regret His new mistake after the murders. Some say He doesn't make mistakes. Some say He had to murder with the flood, in order to get the advanced sinners of today, that worship myriad other Gods, and are quite as proficient at sining as the Christians themselves. Some say that this shows how smart God was right from the very beginning. Some say that God's repeated expressions of frustration at His chosen people, was because when you know exactly what is going to happen because you decided it was gonna happen that way, it gets frustrating. Some say that when God met Moses at the inn to kill him, he knew He wasn't really going to, and his anger was just an act as part of the play. Some say that God's favourite part of writing the bible was when He inspired the psalm writers in the exact words that they would use to praise Himself. Writing love poems about oneself is not easy. You gotta throw in the odd curse and expression of disbelief...just to make it authentic. Some say when God set the wheels in motion, He decided that infanticide ought to be a recurring theme in the drama. He simply didn't know any other way. As the all powerful God He is still constrained by something more powerful than Himself in His decision making. Some wonder if God actually even made decisions as the bible seems to indicate. After all, if He made any decisions (such as the one where He created the world and chiselled the future of every being down in the stone of his heart), then couldn't He have made any alternative decisions? Were all His decisions good ones, or did He made bad ones? He tells us in the bible that He regrets some of His decisions. SO DO I.
