Sweet pot I don't need, but how about some wisdom in a field you are a real expert in. Alcoholism. I have a friend I'm trying to help. He just celebrated three years without booze, so his wife called us up and said she was going to throw a party for twelve of his friends and family---would we come?
"Surely" said I.
The party was held. No booze of course. We were all believers and teetotalers. But lo, about a week later he fell off of the wagon and has been pretty much soused since. He has quit going to work. He has a Believer for a boss that came to see him and pulled him out of the tavern and talked "turkey" to him and told him if he'd show up for work, he'd act like he hadn't been away. So my friend stayed dry for 1 1/2 days, but then boom, soused again. Didn't report to work---he has been an alcoholic since he was eleven years old. He is 38 now and this three year stretch was his longest. He is a good guy when sober, mean while drinking. He shot himself a few years back while drinking (suicide attempt)---put the gun to his stomach and tore apart his innards---but they managed to save him.
Now what?
Let's have some good Godly wisdom from someone that has "been there, done that."
Thank you.

B.
