Friday September 22, 5:01 pm Eastern Time Triton Energy says to sell $300 mln notes DALLAS, Sept 22 (Reuters) - Triton Energy Ltd. (NYSE:OIL - news), a Dallas-based exploration and production company, said on Friday it intends to sell $300 million of senior notes. The company said it intends to use proceeds to refinance its $200 million of 8.75 percent senior notes maturing in 2002, as well as for capital expenses and other general corporate purposes. Triton Energy's existing senior debt is rated ``BB-minus'' by Standard & Poor's.
