The posting that you forwarded containing the bullish post by GroundZero (GZ) that OPEC was going to respond to the release of the SPR by cutting its own production by an equivalent amount seems totally at odds with this news release of the response of the Kuwait Oil Minister Sheikh al-Sabah to the SPR news. In the absence of further documentation provided by GZ for his/her version of the story, I'm inclined not to accept his/her version as being accurate.

On Friday, Kuwait Oil Minister Sheikh Saud Nasser al-Sabah said on Friday he would welcome a release of U.S. emergency petroleum reserves if this helped to stabilize the energy market.

``We are not going to interfere in something that is an internal American issue,'' he told reporters.

``But we welcome it if it leads to market stability.''
