Does anyone have an opinion on how successful the Metro Service Providers (MSP) like Telseon or Yipes are apt to be in their effort to end run the last mile bottleneck.
I do not fully understand this model yet, but my initial take is that last mile is replaced by first mile MSP-owned ethernet that connects to the optical metro and backbone.
Obviuosly they are only talking about the business customer and looking to own the LAN to LAN connect market. Sounds like the low hanging tasty fruit to me. If these MSP start to eating the ILECs lunch dont the ILECs end up winning Ms congeneality at the beauty contest and get stuck doing low margin or worse residential services?
