Actually.. I would have to say Peter Jennings might be your most famous Canadian.. yes.. that guy who does the ABC Evening News. I blame Bush for not KNOWING the PM's name.. <g> Gore sure does BTW.. about the same time .. Canada's Ambassador to the US got involved in a minor cause celebre when he publicly let slip it would be in the best interests of Canada if Al Gore got elected to the Presidency.. since he was a friend of ours and knew the country and the issues about it with the US well.. it caused considerable consternation up here, as Canada officially is neutral in US elections.. but again.. the US's constant ignorance of anything involving the country to the north of it got us off the hook:)
