| | NoParking/Mike/ALL: LV was probably very smart when he said he didn't discuss politics with people he wanted to keep as friends. I should probably follow the same advice, but I'm afraid I'm not as wise as LV. I really like everybody on this board, but I don't think a difference of political views should cause a major riff.
Noparking, it may have not been clear in my post, but I'm not necessarily a Bush supporter. What I do know is, Gore can't be trusted. He'll do what it takes to get into office, and I'm still waiting on HillaryCare, and Clinton's last educational promises.
I think politicians create ad campaigns that will win votes with no intention of ever honoring those promises.
And it really doesn't make much difference to me because none of Gore's promises will benefit me anyway.
Outside of my circle I believe that Bushes SeniorCare is better than Gore's. And I think I would get a better tax break from Bush.
The Republican right to life stuff is a mute issue because it would never be passed anyway.
The two key issues that have me on the Republican side of the fence are:
1) If Colin Powell and Shwarpkoff (how in the heck do you spell that guys name) both say the military needs beefing up I believe them. I'm sick and tired of democrats lying to protect their position. They never concede anything and blindly lie, lie, lie. Anyway, the best defense is a strong offense.
2) More proof of bs from the Love Canal Love Story father of the Internet. With this gas shortage, why does Gore adapt the Bush proposal of an environmnetally friendly approach to tapping the oil we already have and lift refinery and atomic power restrictions.
3) Lieberman could have an emotional breakdown if he were president. Before his VP slot I thought he was going to breakdown and cry in most of his speeches.
4)Tipper is not first lady material. Send her back to the coffee clutches in Tenessee so she doesn't get back on drugs.
And to further destroy all of my credibility I would rather see Ralph Nadar, Ross Perot, or Pat Buchannan President than either Bush or Gore.
I don't agree with all of their politics. But I like people with honest passion and a personal vision not based on polls.
When somebody is politically incorrect, I find that refreshing in today's world.
Democrat "for the people" ideas are great. But they can't be efficiently and cost effectively implemented.
The Democrats have had eight years to do everything that Gore says he's going to do. Why haven't they done it.
I don't know what they were doing in the oval office but they sure weren't doing the job.
The biggest contribution of Clinton that I can remember is the don't ask don't tell policy in the military. And I'm not sure you could call that a contribution.
Pat Buchanan is outrageous, but I had to like the guy when he says the first thing he will do when he takes office is turn to Clinton and say, "Sir, you have the right to remain silent".
Imagine, a whole party, the Democratic party, that condones lying under oath. And even worse, looking at the American people and lying to them.
It goes on and on, and I doubt few people are still reading.
But if you are,
Gore is bad for the market.
And I hope I won't have the occassion to say, "I told you so."
I will be watching the debates to see if Gore can give me a reason to vote for him. I just hope I won't have to endure any more staged kisses. |
