This is really a change. For years I've heard that Intel is way too conservative in their guidance. Now, a small miss, and Intel management is portrayed as "Radicals", geez.

What percentage of Intel growth did this "warning" represent? It's true that virtually all the analysts lowered their estimates for 4th quater and 2001. If Intel can't accuratly predict demand one quarter out (a major disappointment to me), then how can we expect the analysts to be accurate one quarter out and for next year?

Buyers may come back because the miss wasn't that significant, and they may decide it's a one time issue. Then again, they may decide Intel's business model is flawed, or demand is going to be weak for the forseeable future, and continue to sell.

We'll see.
