Rearrange a few environmental laws and we're swimming in it. It just has to be worth the effort.

Sorry Fred, but I have to take exception to your comments. We are not "swimming in oil". The cost of extraction is the issue. We have already exhausted the easy to extract reserves. The oil that remains is difficult and costly to remove.

It is unfortunate that the Arabs have the most productive wells. Their average well produces 100 times what a North American well produces. They don't have to drill as deeply either.

I won't even comment on the environmental issues.

So driving a 4 cylinder vehicle sounds like a responsible action to take...we are privileged on this continent. We are the biggest consumers of the world's resources. It's time we started thinking about the impact our "living" has on the rest of the world.
