I believe what James is implying is that you are just another one amidst the millions putting his own twist on what the Word of God says.

Perhaps instead of saying, I have but one doctrine James...The Holy word of God my Father. you could have said something more truthful like, that is my take on it, or that is how I see it, or in my opinion.
