>Your evidence is that AMD has not warned?...neither have CPQ, DELL or HWP, all of which are big players in the PC business and in Europe. Why just INTC? I'm not sure what is wrong with INTC, it could be Athlon, problems with Itanium or simply that management failed to properly manage earnings expectations.

>Are you aware of what is going on in Europe?????

Yes, people are very very unhappy with the continued rises in the price of fuel. This started with protests in France (not unusual),and spread when the rest of Europe saw how quickly the French government caved in to their protesters. The protests don't mean that the European economy is on the point of disintegration, however.

As far as the euro is concerned, the decline is nothing new, though I think momentum and speculators have been pushing things to extremes lately.

The euphoric come back of certain stocks today, some even setting new highs, is a reminder of how strong the speculative impulse still is in this market. If we were going to 3000 anytime soon, today would have been a good day for it...instead we just bounced back.
