Comment: Sounds like a winner to me, a big, big winner...Consumer product distribution channels are expanding rapidly, consumer product delivery hurdles seem to be primarily a thing of the past, and Dresden production continues its successful ramping...Distribution to the consumer market may be on "autopilot" by the end of Q4 allowing AMD to redirect a fair amount of management resources towards scaling the mobile, workplace and server spaces...Y2001 is stacking up to be significantly better than what can only be considered an astounding, superb even, Y2000 for AMD...I just can't identify any $2.8 billion company with a current annual growth rate of 70%, expected earnings of $1 billion and with the leading edge flash and microprocessor product lineup that AMD has, which is so well positioned for years of additional above average revenue growth and years of additional above average profit growth...that is trading with a ridiculously low p/e multiple of 10!!! A 4th successive quarter of record earnings (zero doubt, imho) by AMD in Q3, particularly given INTC's negative Thursday revelation that caught many analysts and investors by surprise, will corroberate what many analysts are now entertaining, in Thursday's aftermath, as a possibility, that being, that AMD and its major competitor are currently on diverging courses...a "corroberation" that could result in an immediate and major price revaluation in AMD...If AMD delivers record breaking earnings and meets its Athy 3.6 million target in Q3, it'll confirm for most analysts that "AMD is indeed for real" and not the "road-kill" cited by kumar, who seems to believe that something like a return of Hale-Bopp is going to mysteriously change the current order...
Upon confirmation with "real information" by AMD on Oct. 11 that all is OK, in fact outstanding, in AMDland, I'm looking for a real quick retest of that all-time high of $48.50!!! |
