The auto companies lose money on the fuel efficient cars why? Also, why would Gore want to distance himself from the decision to release reserves. Just to have the appearance it wasn't a political ploy? That doesn't make sense. Of course he's going to want to take some credit for doing right by the american people. PS I don't buy the "security threat" counter argument. A crippling recession is the biggest threat to the country and the world, IMO.
