One thing puzzling me:

If the refiners haven't been buying crude because they've been waiting for the price to drop, who has been buying crude so aggressively lately? Hard for me to imagine that speculators would commit to the future delivery of so much crude (this has been quite the large run in crude) when the commercials are so negative.

Agree that Saddam will be watching very closely to see how the logistics of this SPR and refining thereof play out.

Funny, I remember my daughter crying the night Clinton was first elected in 1992. She was 8 at the time, and really wasn't prone to emotional displays. When questioned, she told us that she just didn't like "that man", that there was something wrong about him. My wife and I voted for Clinton/Gore that day (blush), and our daughter will never let us forget it.

Regards,
