That's why they call it a market capitulation - when the firm holders finally get desperate and sell-off in panic. This is human mob psychology and we are all susceptible to it unless we learn better. The market is more volatile now than ever before because of push button trading access by the masses. The panic selling periods are tremendous opportunities if you have the money sitting on the sidelines and have the tools to catch the rapid turn. I am getting better at it - just wish I had gone all to cash before Friday and then to margin by Monday morning!
