"Of interest, I noted that all the casinos have finally installed all the new slot games in great numbers (Wheel of Fortune, Elvis, etc), but the players in AC are overwhelmingly over-65. Therefore, they are sticking to games that are easy to understand. IMO, the new video-style games are way too complicated and they are being avoided. Hundreds of these new machines are sitting still. All the classics are being played constantly (Red-White-&-Blue, Wild Cherries, Bars & Stars, Diamonds, etc). Why do they try to reinvent the wheel???"

Because in games like Wheel of Fortune, Monopoly, Aliens, etc its "not just a nickel to play".

People pump in several dollars a whack to play 9 lines a shot. After playing some of these, you can get a rush with the big payoffs, often times several hundred coins being thrown at you at a shot. Those machines are not nickel machines but dollar slots, in my opinion.

They also provide entertainment and interaction, of which a typical slot machine cannot provide. You "feel" like you are involved in the decision making, instead of pulling a lever and just looking dumbfounded at it.

I agree Monopoly, Wheel, etc are a bit intimidating at first. But once when you understand whats going on in the myriad of complexities, it can be quite fun....
