The Big Boyz now number 77. It's a big number to keep up with, but we'll give it a yankee try. The Big Point is that of these 77, which comprise over 50% of all the equity in this country, 34 or 44% have a negative stock performance since 12/31/98. That's not 99; that's 98.

I saw the same thing this week. All week, the TV talking heads were supposing that the Market was worried about the 4 E's -- Energy, Euro, Earnings, and Economy.

Frankly, I think that the Big game has been another E - the Election. Big money has already indicated a preference for Bush (which I'll add that I share). What better way to affect the one E (election), but by attacking a couple of the 4 E's. A couple of things I believe - a) Clinton is the ultimate politician, and they better do better than this, and b) intervention seldom works, but do they care if it doesn't work past November?
