Completely off-base response and not a cool statement to make about a friend of mine. In no way, shape or form did I imply that artists believe they can make it BIG without the labels. What I said is that these vehicles threaten the labels who now control the distribution channel. That is going to change in the future - to what degree I don't know but it will change. Besides, in the final analysis it's the artist who should get paid. Wouldn't you pay for a downloaded disk of tunes you could burn on your own cd? I mean....you already pay those high monthly access fees for the porn sites you use <g>
