Well, this is just how Microsoft works... in 30 years, Bill Gates will be known for having invented the most curious License Terms. Especially the way in which Microsoft publicized the Microsoft-modified version of kerberos will always be remembered. I would analyze the situation this way: Microsoft did discover the internet, but unlike Al Gore, they will not just say "We made it", they will try to own it. This is where investors comes in: If you believe that Microsoft will one day own the internet, then you should buy. Now.
