One thing I have noted is, that earlier, the best computer magazines were always american. The U.S. market is the biggest, homogeneous computer market, and is therefore the market leader. Today, I see more and more references to german magazines, and I believe that this country of 80 million people is probably the most important factor in Linux development. They have local heroes, local distributions, many software companies based on Linux etc. And they have always been much more important to computers in Europe than England, and just like most of Europe, almost all IT graduates know Linux programming much better than Windows programming.
