OT: Sometimes it seems to me that the poor have to conserve resources or do without while - or even -so that - the rich can waste. SUV buyers know full well going in what their gas mileage will be. And if gas prices go up a buck a gal. -- that's only a thou spread over a year (15K miles at 15 mi/gal) - if gas prices stay that high and miles driven don't drop.

My point is that imo, it's not so much a bailout of the yuppies (although they surely benefit mightily from their profligation that's affected all of us), it's a bailout of the poor people, esp. those who are on the borderline of being able to afford a car and its upkeep.

That said, I'm in agreement with you guys here.
