OT <<I'm doing a microprocessor design, which has a SDRAM/DDR interface.

I have never been a big proponent of DDR. Check my posts. From a price/performance point of view, DDR appears to be a much better solution than DRDRAM. That is assuming that it works.

As far as I'm concerned I'm pretty happy with PC133, and don't really care much about DRDRAM or DDR. If DDR doesn't work, it doesn't have much impact on me.>>

1)If you do not need DDR, why do an interface to it?
2)If there is no impact to you if DDR does not exist why bother?
3)If DDR is so comaptible with SDRAM why is an interface needed at all?
4)How many versions of this interface are you working on, since there seems to be differences between DDR from company A and DDR from company B?
5)Are you working on an interface to RDRAM - because you should be if you are not? After all: you say you do not care. Well perhaps a good engineer should prepare for the "worst case scenario" to you, or the "obvious scenario" to me.

These all seem like logical questions to me.

Also I really do not understand why you will not disclose who you work for. You are obviously not bashing IMO, but you are obviously biased, but then again so am I.
