That's why back-ups are so critical. In the Palm folder, the third folder down is your Data folder for that Palm user.

Say your name is John Smith, the file should be called:
SmithJ, and in that folder all your Palm apps and data. Just copy that folder to a ZIP drive and you are safe.

Back-ups are the best defence against viruses, I don't have anti-virus software for my Palm yet, I don't feel the current risk is worth the money for the antivirus for a Palm device.

It was only a matter of time that a virus would be created, with 100,000 programmers you are going to get some people who will create viruses. Viruses for computers pose a FAR greater threat at this present time. Once most PDA's are connected, then you will see the problem grow.

Right now I would guess that viruses for Palm will remain VERY rare for some time.

I am not running out to buy anti-virus software for my Pilot anytime soon.

The great thing about restoring a Palm to it's current state after a cold reset, is it only takes seconds to restore the device back to full working order. That's if you backed up that folder mind you.

PS
Thank you for the article.
