Hey, Wooly, Marty, 24601 and the old gang...

Just thought I'd stop by on a Sunday morning. Austin's going to get the first touch of fall here in the next few hours: a cool front that will leave our high about 80 degrees on Monday. A welcome change.

Haven't much to report on the WAVX front, other than I accumulated another thousand shares last week. Geez, since I last visited, we've reached so many milestones. And more are coming.

Incidentally, I visited with an AMD product manager (mobile products) on a flight to San Jose recently. He and I were sharing a copy of EETimes that just so happened to have the WAVX story on its front page. He was quite familiar with WAVX and its business model. He had no direct knowledge of the AMD project... or, if he did, he decided that discretion was the better part of valor. His one comment that I found interesting was, "I think business users are the logical first target for the EMBASSY chip."

Oh, well, not much. But, I find it interesting that someone who was, by his own admission, working in a division far removed from the part of AMD focusing on Wave, was so familiar with Wave. On a less positive note--which may be owing to this guy's competitive nature--he had no many kind things to say about NSM. He believes that NSM's focus on internet appliances is sexy but insubstantial, and that the market will not adopt these appliances as NSM (and others) seem to believe. Oh, well, one guy's opinion.

My best to the gang. I am well. I remain a WAVX die-hard... which is hard NOT to be given the MSFT and Philips and Hitachi and Cyber-Comm (and so on) developments. Courage to longs.

Best,

c m
